•Telecommunications constitute in Senegal and for the other countries of Africa an important sector which is in strong growth.
In Senegal, the telecommunication turnover represented in 2001 3,6% of the national GDP, and knew a growth of the park of 30% in 2002.
Senegal has in this sector modern infrastructures: a telephone network digitized at 100% and also an IP network (Internet Protocol) which covers the major part of the country.
Today in Senegal, we handle approximately 320.000 fixed telephone lines for 10 million inhabitants. This, places this country at the second rank to sub-Saharan Africa after South Africa.
These last years were especially marked by the fulgurating progression of the mobile telephony whose park exceeded in 2001 that of the fixed network and has today more than 2 000.000 subscribers. Internet network has also a fast growth with the ADSL.
La Colombe Groupe made a reflection on the future by inviting its partners:
• To attract the maximum of customer on the Telecommunication networks by developing a strong data base of viable prospective customers and defining new strategies and approach solutions.
These services and solutions were implemented and were approved by “WORLDSPACE”, one of our first telecommunication partners, in the sale, the subscription and re subscription of the satellite products.
From these result, a collaboration of partnership was born between La Colombe, Delta, the ARTP, SMS+ and the Telecommunication operators.
In conclusion, It appears that most of the the population is connected to a Telecommunication network and don’t separate themselves from it.
Consequently, this connection can be used like a support of influence.
